User Guide

It is our goal to make UltraMFCD as easy to use as possible. This section contains details of the applications settings and behaviours.

Getting Started

UltraMFCD Start Screen
UltraMFCD start screen

All that is required to get started with UltraMFCD is to launch the app. UltraMFCD will extract the diplays of all supported aircraft with all setting enabled. Each exported display will appear at its default position on your system's primary monitor. Each display will remember its size and position when moved away from its default position.

Settings

UltraMFCD provides a number of setting where the pilot can customise their experience. These are accessed by clicking the settings cog icon in the top-right of the start screen.

Colour LITENING/Shkval CCD

Rafael have announced that they will be offering a colour CCD sensor for all LITENING pods by the end of 2014. Selecting this option provides the same functionality to the A-10C's LITENING pod in DCS. This functionality also works with the Shkval.

Fade MFCD icons

Each display exported by UltraMFCD three size/position memories which are accessed by the three small icons to the top-right of each exported MFCD in addition to a drag handle which is used to resize a display. Selecting this option will hide said icons unless the mouse pointer is directly over any given display.

Hide displays when outside DCS

UltraMFCD allows its displays to be dragged to any monitor connected to your PC. Selecting this option will temporarily hide all exported displays while you're using an application other than DCS. As soon as you return to the simulator, all displays will be restored to their original position.

Enable clickable displays

UltraMFCD incorporates a display's associated buttons in to the display surface itself, removing the need for bulky and obtrusive display surrounds. Deselect this option if you wish to disable the touchscreen functionality.

Export Quality

The Export Quality setting enables the selection of how large UltraMFCD renders exports within DCS, which in turn affects FPS and visual fidelity. A restart of DCS is required when altering this setting.

DCS Version Override

Some users have reported that UltraMFCD cannot differentiate between DCS v1.5 and DCS v2.0 on their systems. This allows the manual selection of DCS version.

Show Test Displays

Displays the A-10C CDU and an MFCD without needing to launch DCS. Useful for debugging purposes.

Generate Diagnosics Package

Enables the collection of debugging and logging information. For more information on its use see: How to generate a useful bug report.

Key Bindings

UltraMFCD supports switching between each display's three size/position memories using a keyboard, joystick or mouse combination which can be configured in this section. As is the case with the A-10C's HOTAS system, UltraMFCD differentiates between a short press and a long press (appx. 0.75s).

Reset All

Reset All will restore each display export's size and position to defaults, along with clearing key bindings.

System Messages

Pertinent messages regarding UltraMFCD's functioning will appear here.
